Phytospecific drying hair out?

Hi there,

I've used this relaxer three times now, and the first time I used it the results were amazing. Super straight hair, and easily managable hair. However the last 2 times I used it, the effects were not as good.

When I last did it, I used Index 2 (for thick hair) and it just dried my hair out. Although when I washed it out in the shower, it was straight to an extent, my hair felt really rough on my neck and just a tangled mess - and when it dried WHAT A MESS. so dry and horrible. I have medium length hair. Perhaps I used too much? As I used the whole solution.

Why is this happening? I want to use it again (6 months on) as my hair is curly again, but my hair goes horrible.

Relaxers should never be pulled through the ends! Its only to be touched up on the roots. A relaxer is the harshest salon product. It is very alkaline. Next time divide you hair in 4 sections. Part all the way back like a pig tail parts. Then around your ears part from original part to top of ear for ur front sections. Start the relaxer at the top down to the previously relaxed part and STOP. Use a plastic tail comb and make a 1/2" section and keep applying the same way. This gives you control over keeping it on just the regrowth.

As for the dryness now. Go to your salon and get a deep conditioning treatment. (not expensive at all) You can even get it done at a beauty school.

u either left it on too long or u applied it to the hair that was already straightened...

relaxers are the strongest chemical u can ever put in ur hair! u must apply this in a timely manner and only on the new growth when needed. make sure to also cut ur ends every time u get ur relaxer done.

as for the damage or breakage- u must get a good haircut and get some deep reconstructive treatments in ur hair.

I heard phytospecific relaxer was really good..but maybe it's too strong for you.

You might have to try the mild phyto or try another relaxer. I use Silk Elements mild and it's just fine.

I wouldn't use it again.

Get it done professionally in a salon or if pennies are an issue go to your local hair dressing college they do student cuts all supervised and are usually very good and very chesp too.

Dont go out and buy anything expensive.

First: Purchase a mild Shampoo (To Clarify hair, I will explain why)

Second: TRIM your hair ends (May 1 1/2 to 2 inches)

Third: Here's the magic part: Mix olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil, avocado oil and a "little" honey, (honey u will have to heat so it can blend). Either leave on ALL day or all night (if all nite, DONT use honey)

Repeat this 3-4 times a week, your hair will grow like a weed %26amp; remove all frizz I promise,..... and it will be super shiny!!!!

The clairifying shampoo will help take the oil off your hair when u shower

You can find olive oil anywere, but the other oils you will have to buy at a local organics store, wholes foods or BJ's health corner.
