first get the dead ends trimmed off...you cant repair split ends, and your hair will look much better afterwards. get a shampoo and conditioner for dry and damaged hair...and deep condition or use a hot oil treatment once a week. if you use heat on your hair, stop. heat destorys hair. but if u must, limit yourself to heat styling once a week, and always use a heat protectant spray. this should help your dry and damaged hair a lot....good luck :)

You can buy moisturizing hot oil treatments. They come three to a pack. You heat them in the microwave and put them in your hair to soak.

Cholesterol. you can get it at Sally's Beauty Supply or at Walmart (in hair products isle). what you do is first wash your hair then apply a generous amount of cholesterol through your hair, leave it on for about ten minutes then rinse it out, dry and style as usual. if you do blow dry your hair or apply any type of heat to your hair use a thermal protector on your hair before you apply heat. i recommend Redken or Biosilk.

I live in Hawaii and the humidity is murder on my hair. I use Aussie Cleanse and Mend shampoo, and 3 minute miracle conditioner. Also if your hair is really bad get V05 hot oil treatment. It works really well and doesn't leave your hair greasy. :) Also if you just get regular conditioner and load it on your hair then put a cap on to hold in the heat that works to. :)

When you hair is dry and dead what is the best way to refurbish it?
(1) First, get a haircut to eliminate the dry %26amp; split ends. If you just want the ends trimmed, that'll work also. Get a trim every six weeks, without fail.
(2) If you have been coloring your hair regularly, it's time to give your hair a break for a while. (color dries out the hair)
(3) It's time to change shampoos %26amp; conditioners. I have had nothing but great luck with all Pantene products, especially the shampoo/conditioner all in one. It's great for getting life back into your hair. Dandruff shampoos used regularly dry out the hair
(4) Use a conditioner even if it's already in the shampoo you switch to. Pantene makes a "detangler" that I use %26amp; it has a conditioner in it. (spray in/comb through/leave it in)
(5) Use heated styling aids only as needed %26amp; on "low" setting
(6) When out in the sun, wear a hat or a scarf.
(7) No perms until hair is in great shape
(8) Get a deep heat conditioning treatment at a salon once a month.
