My hair is so weird when I blow dry it?

How do I get it to make it not so ucky when I blow dry it. I use moisturizing shampoo and I put in a "soft" cream by dove beforeI hair dry it. It's so dry and a bit poofy and the beginning hair curves around my face. I have to straighten it or it looks ugly. Its kinda hard to style it with a brush while blow drying as well. Drying naturally makes it look less poofy but really bad aswell.

That what happens to me all the time. I have to straighten it or do roller and get in a hood dryer or it looks like pure crap! I had a maxiglide a while back for me it saved my butt from bad hair days, it broke after 2 years : ( I think that it is hard for a regular person with really curly hair to blow your staight with a blowdryer. I believe only a professional hairdresser can pull it off or Lord Shiva (6 arms.)-LOL.

I have the exact same problem. Whenever I blow dry, it gets clumpy and rough looking (hard to explain), yet when I dry naturally it's just unkempt looking.

Use a leave-in conditioner to keep your hair moisturized at all times. Also, make sure you wash out your shampoos and conditioners really well in the shower, otherwise this could cause a nasty residue in your hair which could make it feel not clean.

are you using a conditioner? it can be annoying, but sometimes you have to test lots of different products before finding one that works. you didn't mention what your hair looks like naturaly. i've used sunsilk products for frizzy hair before and i liked it. i just now started using pantene pro-v anti frizz shampoo and conditioner and i think it works amazingly (for me anyway.)

also, its really important how you blow dry it. what kind of blowdryer do you use? is it really cheap and basic? invest in a good quality one with diffuser. the diffuser is really important. use one with a very thin opening, the thinest you can find, and use good brushes. take your time and section your hair off into several thin sections and blow dry them one by one, making sure to only blow dry your hair in one direction, pointing the blow drying down, and not going crazy blowing it around up and down, as this makes the hair poofy. when you're done styling your hair, blast it with cold air and use a finishing product.

try going to a stylist to get your hair blown out and ask for tips from your stylist and watch everything they do to your hair very closely and try to imitate it at home.

good luck.

Try using a hair polish to smooth it down when you finish blow drying. Also, John Freida's Frizz Eaze hair syrum is good for taming frizz prior to blow drying.

The other trick is palmade (or Vasoline in a pinch). It sounds like a terrible idea, but a dab of it in your palms to slick flyaways down really does help when you're running late for work and your hair looks cow-licked.
