Is there any cure for dry, damaged hair?

Are there any products that stop damaged hair from growing? I know you can't cure hair that's already damaged, but is there any shampoo/conditioner that cures the hair from the roots and stops damaged hair from growing and spreading to other hairs? My hair is damaged all over and there really isn't any point in trimming it unless the damage goes to the lower parts of my hair.

well every time before u take a shower like 30mins before u take a shower put some olive oil in ur hair massage it through ur hair

than wash ur hair really good and u can always have baby oil on ur hair great idea i love doing it
