I'm mixed black and white and i use PCJ for kids because it is more gentile and does not break your hair off

and leaves your hair shinny

but all straighteners damage hair. just make sure to use a good conditioner like motions or pantene smooth and sleek if you use pantene make sure

you switch every three weeks (between two conditioners) or the wax in pantene will make tour hair flat

ps: please don't put any thing in your hair before you straighten it

relaxers are chemicals you don't know how it will react!!!!!!

well from what my understanding is, if you dont moisturize your hair enough, when you straighten it, it WILL get dry.

I have fine hair and I use my flat iron everyday. If I use it on unprotected hair (without thermal styling products) it does get dry. I started using products designed for use with flat irons and blow dryers...it helps a lot. I really like the products by Aquage. My hair still feels a little dry at times so use a good conditioner, too.

look at it this way:

you have a very hot fire.

you stick a twig in it for 10 seconds.

then you stick a one inch diameter branch in there for 10 seconds.

take note of the difference.
